Starting in 2006, Canadian veterinary colleges will be responsible for the $10,000 accreditation cost for each seven-year accreditation cycle, same as U.S. veterinary schools and colleges.

AVMA Immediate Past President Jack O. Walther recommended the flat fee to the Executive Board since a similar plan was approved in April for U.S. institutions. Discussions with members of the Canadian VMA and National Examining Board confirm that the rate of sharing costs should be the same for Canadian veterinary colleges.
