The AVMA House of Delegates (HOD) is composed of members representing 70 state, territorial, and allied veterinary medical groups—a delegate and an alternate delegate from each organization. The HOD sets Association policies and elects the seven-member House Advisory Committee, which makes recommendations to both the House and the Board of Directors. The House of Delegates meets twice a year: each summer at AVMA Convention and each winter at the Veterinary Leadership Conference.
