Join us at the AVMA Veterinary Business and Economic Forum

It has been said that the only constant in life is change. This concept rings true in the business world, which has certainly seen its fair share of change over the past few years.

As a former practice owner, I know that it can be challenging to adapt to a rapidly changing world and stay on top of the latest trends affecting the veterinary industry.

Increasing your awareness of current market conditions can do wonders for your short- and long-term business strategy. One of the best ways to do that is by attending the AVMA Veterinary Business and Economic Forum, which will be held virtually October 24-25, 2023. The forum provides actionable, strategic business insights that are applicable whether you’re a veterinary practice leader, a business manager, an industry executive, a veterinary economist, a veterinary educator, a leader of a state, allied, or veterinary professional group...or just looking to learn more about the economics of our profession!

One of the things I’m personally looking forward to, on top of hearing about the most current economic data, is learning more about today’s consumer and client expectations. COVID created very unpredictable and irregular trends, and it will be interesting to hear how those trends are developing as we move away from the height of the pandemic.

The forum’s robust agenda includes a myriad of topics, including how to effectively leverage team members, innovating with technology, and the benefits of mentorship, which is one of my personal passions. Another thing that makes the forum unique is its user-friendly format. The speakers will introduce the data and identify the key insights, then guide participants in developing actionable steps that match our individual situations.

I also look forward to the keynote speakers, Andrew Busch and Dr. Anthony Mazzarelli, who are leaders in economics and business leadership.  It’s always interesting to hear perspectives from outside the veterinary profession. These experts will provide lessons on navigating the ever-changing business and economic environment that we can apply to veterinary medicine. Andrew Busch will present about “Future work: Growth opportunities and challenges” while Dr. Mazzarelli will present about the benefits of “compassionomics.”

This year’s forum promises to live up to its theme of sharing solutions that will help shape your success. I hope to see you there! For more information and to register, visit avma.org/EconForum.
