New tools help the profession combat cyberbullying
Now available to the entire veterinary profession, AVMA’s reputation management toolkit offers resources to help you manage your online reputation and handle cyberbullying incidents.
This toolkit includes practical resources that empower veterinary professionals to protect our reputations, prevent and combat cyberbullying, respond to cyberbullying situations, and support team wellbeing. Anyone—veterinarians and technicians, students and professors, office managers and team leaders—can use these tools to combat cyberbullying.
With an educational grant from Banfield Pet Hospital, the AVMA provides these brand new tools to help you recognize a cyberbullying situation, respond to media during the crisis, and understand what to do afterward:
- Understanding cyberbullying
- Engaging with the media during a crisis event
- Recovering your reputation after a cyberbullying incident
In addition, AVMA’s entire reputation management toolkit and cyberbullying video library is now available to both AVMA members and nonmembers to help all of us respond to feedback, manage our personal and business reputations, and prepare for and prevent crises.
By providing broad access to these resources, the AVMA and Banfield are working together to ensure that veterinary teams have access to the tools needed to head off potential problems and mitigate harm in the case of cyberbullying attacks.
