Veterinary opportunities in CDC public health training programs

The AVMA encourages the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to continue to provide opportunities for veterinarians and veterinary students in CDC’s public health training programs. Veterinarians contribute unique and critical skills in epidemiology, preventive medicine, and recognition of zoonotic diseases in the field of public health. The inclusion of veterinarians in these programs supports an interdisciplinary approach to the public health workforce to promote and protect human, animal, and environmental health.
