AVMA AxonThe COVID-19 pandemic has taught veterinarians a lot, including how using telehealth tools could help them stay connected with their clients, while keeping the safety of veterinary teams front and center. On March 30, AVMA President Douglas Kratt will host a virtual chat titled “Telehealth 2.0: Use Tech to Connect Beyond COVID.”

Access to COVID-19 vaccines is giving veterinarians hope for a return to something more equivalent to normal, but in no way does that mean they should be putting those telehealth tools back on the shelf, according to the AVMA. Instead, veterinarians can continue to integrate telehealth into their practices to enhance the client-practice bond, improve compliance and patient health, more fully and efficiently use team members’ training and skills, and support work-life balance.

Dr. Kratt along with Dr. Gail Golab, AVMA chief veterinary officer, will share some tips on what veterinarians can do right now and will explore, together with attendees, what connected care might look like in the future.

The virtual chat will be at noon Central on Tuesday, March 30. Registration is available via AVMA Axon, the AVMA’s online platform for continuing education and other offerings.
