American Regent issued a recall March 15 of three lots of bacteriostatic sodium chloride injection, 0.9 percent, because some vials of the lots might contain visible particulates.

The recall applies to 30 mL multiple-dose vials, national drug code 0517-0648-25, that have the following lot numbers and expiration dates: 9330, 05/2011; 9599, 08/2011; and 9828, 12/2011.

Health care facilities should quarantine product from these lots for return to American Regent. Customers with questions may contact the company at (877) 788-3232.

American Regent stated that it has identified the source of the particulates and has taken steps to correct the problem.
