Elsa Murano, PhD, the U.S. undersecretary of agriculture for food safety, has resigned her post to become the vice chancellor and dean of agriculture and life sciences at Texas A&M University. She also will serve as director of the Texas Agricultural Experiment Station.
Dr. Murano was appointed by President Bush in 2001 to direct the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service.
