Every two years since 1984, the AVMA has surveyed veterinarians to collect data on professional incomes and practice operations. This year, the AVMA and Brakke Consulting are teaming up to conduct a more comprehensive survey and use the results as part of a follow-up to the pivotal Brakke Study, published in 2000. The expanded Biennial Economic Survey will include questions on the business practices of companion animal, food animal, and equine practitioners.

In early April, a survey package was sent to a random sample of veterinarians representing all work categories within the United States. Should you receive a survey package, please take the time to fill out the survey completely. To ensure the most accurate and timely information, a high response rate is vital from all veterinarians sampled, regardless of their current practice or employment situation.
