Charles A. Beutel

Dr. Beutel (OSU '64), 62, Ravenna, Ohio, died Oct. 9, 2002. He practiced at Banks & Beutel Veterinary Hospital near Kent, Ohio, serving the area for 36 years. Following graduation, Dr. Beutel served in the Army Veterinary Corps for two years. His wife, Mary, and two sons survive him. Channing E. Cotton

Dr. Cotton (ISU '53), 72, Bemidji, Minn., died Aug. 24, 2002. Prior to retirement, he owned the Animal Medical Center in Omaha, Neb., for many years. Early in his career, Dr. Cotton practiced in Armor and Mitchell, S.D.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice; a son; and six daughters.


David M. Hogan

Dr. Hogan (PUR '80), 48, Ander-son, Ind., died Sept. 24, 2002. He had owned Edgewood Veterinary Clinic in Anderson for 12 years. Prior to that, Dr. Hogan practiced at Ireland Animal Clinic in South Bend, Ind., for seven years. He also did relief work and donated his services to the Madison County Humane Society.


Allen R. Hudson Jr.

Dr. Hudson (AUB '83), 44, Anniston, Ala., died Aug. 6, 2002. He was the owner of Saks Veterinary Clinic in Anniston for 17 years. Dr. Hudson was a member of the Alabama VMA and the Calhoun County VMA. He is survived by a daughter and a son.

Wesley H. Wertz

Dr. Wertz (KSU '44), 80, St. Charles, Mo., died Oct. 5, 2002. Prior to retirement, he practiced in St. Charles for more than 40 years. Dr. Wertz served in the Air Force from 1953-1955. He was a past president of the Missouri VMA, being named Veterinarian of the Year in 1966. Dr. Wertz had also served as a delegate to the AVMA and on the Council on Education.

He was a member of the St. Charles Police and Fire Board of Directors, and also served on the advisory board of the Salvation Army of St. Charles County. Dr. Wertz is survived by his wife, Betty; a son; and a daughter.
