AVMA to partner in food safety alliance

The Executive Board approved AVMA participation in the new Alliance for Food Safety Communication, with expenses of $5,000. Representatives will be an AVMA staff member and a volunteer to be named by the board with recommendations from the Council on Public Health and Regulatory Veterinary Medicine. The alliance will initially be a partnership of the AVMA, Institute of Food Technologists, International Association of Food Protection, and Society of Toxicology.
