Webinars offer training on cannabis and leadership development
Online learning is one of many tools the AVMA provides to keep AVMA members and other veterinary professionals up to date on pressing clinical issues while advancing your professional and personal growth. In just a few hours, you’ll have the chance to learn about AVMA tools that can help you manage your finances in our webinar Refresher on Adulting: Personal Finances which will take place at Noon Central time. And in August, you’ll have three more opportunities to learn from AVMA experts on topics including cannabis, leadership development, and team-building.
These webinars are free and open to all veterinary professionals, but space is limited. Be sure to register soon using the links below.
The Evolution of Leadership: Personal Journeys and Lessons Learned
August 2, Noon Central Time – Register Here
Hear from two veterinarians who recently participated in the AVMA Future Leader program on challenges they’ve overcome, skills they’ve gained, and lessons they’ve learned in their leadership journeys. You’ll have an opportunity to explore your own leadership goals and identify how you might surmount challenges that prevent you from achieving them.
This webinar is part the AVMA’s Lead & Learn series. It’s open to all veterinary professionals, with the option to earn 1 hour of CE credit. AVMA members who can’t attend the live session will be able to watch it later as an on-demand webinar with an option to earn the same CE credit.
Leadership and Team Building for Practice Success
August 15, Noon Central Time – Register Here
Join the AVMA Veterinary Career Center and veterinary practice consultant Dr. Peter Weinstein for a discussion on the leadership and team-building skills needed to run a thriving veterinary practice. This webinar will help you learn about effective leadership skills and how to acquire them; the importance of having a practice vision, mission, and set of values in building a collaborative team; and the benefits of a healthy workplace culture.
This live webinar offers the option to earn 1 hour of CE credit. The webinar also will be recorded for on-demand viewing, but CE credit is available only for live attendees.
What Veterinarians Need to Know about Cannabis
August 23, 6 PM Central Time – Register Here
With increasing interest in cannabis as a therapeutic agent in both human and veterinary medicine, it’s important for veterinarians to have a working knowledge of cannabis. Join us for a discussion led by Dr. Jeffrey Powers, member of the AVMA’s Council on Biologic and Therapeutic Agents, and Dr. Gail Golab, AVMA’s chief veterinary officer, on the potential benefits and adverse effects of cannabis, as well as cannabis-related regulations.
As part the AVMA’s Lead & Learn series, this webinar is open to all veterinary professionals, with the option to earn 1 hour of CE credit. AVMA members who can’t attend the live session will be able to watch it later, on demand, with an option to earn the same CE credit.
On demand CE for a limited time only
Don’t forget that AVMA and NAVTA members have the opportunity – through August 31 – to access the CE module Opioid Minimal Anesthesia, hosted by VetBloom, and download related resources on the topic of opioid-free and opioid-minimal alternatives for anesthesia and analgesia. This is a free benefit of your AVMA or NAVTA membership, and offers 1.5 hours of CE credit. To access the content, you’ll need to create a free VetBloom account if you don’t already have one, and use the code AVMACE2018 at checkout.
