The AVMA staff got a sneak peak at "Continuum," a life-size bronze sculpture depicting the history of the human-animal bond, while it was en route to its new home at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind. Commissioned by the Purdue School of Veterinary Medicine, the sculpture stopped briefly at AVMA headquarters in August on its trek from Washington state, home to creator Larry Anderson. Several Purdue alumni were on hand for the preview. An added feature of the 45-foot long, 9-foot tall sculpture are the skeletal, circulatory, and nervous systems sculpted in relief on a horse, pig, and cat. "Continuum" was officially unveiled and dedicated at the veterinary school's homecoming, Sept 23.
