The FDA in late July debuted a new Web page that combines several sources of information on antimicrobial resistance.

With sections for general background information, recommendations and strategies, and veterinary information, the site targets consumers and producers as well as veterinarians.

In addition to information from within the FDA, the site includes links to relevant pages from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Institutes of Health, and several universities, among others. Featured links include FDA Consumer articles, government and university fact sheets, and CDC recommendations for dealing with the problem of antimicrobial resistance.

The site can be found at www.fda.gov/oc/opacom/hottopics/anti_resist.html.
