Veterinary students who have completed research on applied animal behavior are invited to submit a paper to the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior and compete for a $1,500 award. Part of the award will be used to defray the student's costs to attend the society's meeting, being held in conjunction with the AVMA Annual Convention in Boston. The winner will be notified before the meeting, present the winning paper at the meeting, and then receive the award. An abstract of the paper will be printed in the society's newsletter.

Papers should not have been previously published or have received final acceptance for journal publication prior to the submission deadline. Students should submit papers in the format for application to a scientific publication, enclosing a cover page, an abstract, materials and methods section, discussion, and references. Three copies of the paper, double-spaced and devoid of references to location and author (except on the cover page), should be sent by April 1 to Dr. Ilana Reisner, PO Box 105, Brooktondale, NY 14817.
