The AVMA's online Veterinary Career Center, https://www.avma.org/ProfessionalDevelopment/Career/VCC/Pages/default.aspx, has added a new service that will make it easier for employers and job seekers to meet at veterinary conferences. Bayer Animal Health sponsors the VCC.

The AVMA Membership and Field Services Division launched the online Career Fair service this July at the AVMA Annual Convention in Philadelphia.

The new program expands on the VCC's resume and job posting database, which allows employers and job seekers to find each other. With the Career Fair program, employers and job seekers can narrow their search to individuals who will be attending the same conference. The program assists interview scheduling between employers and job seekers, and the AVMA will provide an area at the conferences for the interviews.

Now, employers and job seekers can schedule 30-minute interviews for selected upcoming conferences that will feature the VCC. The scheduler will allow users to block out times when they will be attending sessions or are otherwise unavailable. The Central Veterinary Conference in Kansas City, Mo., Aug. 28-31, was the first conference where interviews scheduled by use of the online Career Fair service were held. For future conferences, the Career Fair service will permit users to schedule interviews as early as 60 days before the last day of the conference.
