AVMA policies relevant to waste disposal
The AVMA has a number of policies regarding disposal of animal waste, carcasses, medical waste, and pharmaceuticals as well as policies encouraging environmentally responsible veterinary practice procedures. These policies are overseen and regularly reviewed by one or more AVMA entities, including the Committee on Environmental Issues, the Committee on Disaster and Emergency Issues, the Council on Biologic and Therapeutic Agents, and the Council on Veterinary Service.
