Waste management in veterinary medicine
The AVMA advocates for the management of veterinary medical waste to be safe, environmentally responsible, and compliant with applicable regulations. Waste management pertains to the acquisition and full life cycle of hazardous and non-hazardous materials, including, but not limited to, medical, pharmaceutical, biological, and radiological waste. The AVMA encourages veterinary teams to include waste management as a part of their broader sustainability policies.
