Foreign animal disease laboratory

UNDER REVIEW

The AVMA actively seeks continued adequate congressional funding for the functional maintenance and uninterrupted operation of the United States' foreign animal disease research and diagnostic laboratory facility at Plum Island prior to the opening of the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF). Congress should appropriate adequate funding to the agency operating the NBAF for operations and ongoing maintenance as well as for a robust foreign animal disease research and diagnostics program.
