The Task Force on AVMA Programs for Students & Recent Graduates Report
The Task Force on AVMA Programs for Students and Recent Graduates was established by the AVMA Executive Board in January 2010 and the members of the Task Force were announced in April 2010. Commission members were charged with reviewing current AVMA student programs; comparing existing AVMA programs to other association plans and the American Society of Veterinary Medical Association Executives (ASVMAE) recent graduate report; determining the needs of students and recent graduates and developing a strategic plan incorporating existing successful tactics with new ideas in order to convert students to AVMA members, develop students as veterinarians, and develop students and recent graduates as future AVMA leaders; and recommending actions to enable AVMA to strengthen student and recent graduate programs.
