Dr. Bianca Zenor named AVMA's chief membership officer
(SCHAUMBURG, Illinois) May 23, 2024 – Dr. Bianca Zenor has joined the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) as Chief Membership Officer, overseeing the organization's Membership and Field Services Division, the Convention and Meeting Planning Division, and the Veterinary Career Center group.
"Dr. Zenor brings a record of accomplishment in every area of veterinary medicine to this new position, and we are delighted to have her in a senior leadership role at the AVMA," said Dr. Rena Carlson, AVMA President. "She will focus on strengthening collaborative relationships with veterinary deans and faculty, the Student American Veterinary Medical Association, and other members of our community to promote AVMA membership and enhance our value proposition."
"With record membership numbers and the great successes we have been experiencing with key membership initiatives and events, now is the time to once again consolidate these areas under a Chief Membership Officer to create even greater synergy and take how we serve our members to the next level," said Dr. Janet Donlin, Executive Vice President & CEO, to whom Dr. Zenor will report.
"At the AVMA, I aim to foster an even stronger sense of community among our members," Dr. Zenor said. "By leveraging our collective expertise and resources, we can create a more connected and supportive environment for veterinarians across all career stages and areas of expertise. Building on our successful Student Initiatives and Early Career programs, I plan to further enhance these efforts by strengthening our partnerships with the deans of veterinary medical colleges, relationships with supporting specialists, and targeted support for interns and residents."
Dr. Zenor attended Purdue University, where she earned Bachelor of Science in biology, Master of Science in animal science, and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degrees. She joined the AVMA from IDEXX in Westbrook, ME, where she served as Director of Global Medical Affairs and Outreach from 2020-2024. From 2017-2020, Dr. Zenor was Director of Purdue's Veterinary Nursing Program and served as a clinical associate professor. Prior to that, she worked for Hill's Pet Nutrition, including as Senior Manager, U.S. Veterinary Affairs from 2014-2017, and also owned a relief veterinary service in Indiana, among other clinical roles.
