(SCHAUMBURG, Illinois) July 2, 2025—The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) today named Dr. Adam Christman, chief veterinary officer for dvm360 and the Fetch Veterinary Conferences, an MJH Life Sciences brand, as the winner of the 2025 AVMA Steve Dale Excellence in Veterinary Media Award.

Established by the AVMA in 2022, the award honors the achievements of an individual who has contributed to the positive visibility of the veterinary profession by raising public awareness of the important and diverse roles veterinarians play in every facet of the health and welfare of animals, people, and the environment. The award is named for Steve Dale, a longtime author and broadcaster who was the inaugural recipient of the award in 2022.

"I am truly humbled and honored to receive an award that celebrates the power of storytelling to elevate the veterinary profession and illuminate the vital connection between animals and people in the media," said Dr. Christman. "Following in the footsteps of Steve Dale, I’m reminded that our voices matter—and when used with purpose, they can make change and impact for the profession and the animals we serve."

As Chief Veterinary Officer for dvm360, Dr. Christman leads the strategic development of multimedia content while serving as a prominent and trusted voice for the dvm360 platform and Fetch dvm360 Veterinary Conferences. His dynamic social media presence has amassed a combined following of over 2 million across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and Threads, where he delivers accessible, educational, and entertaining content for pet owners, veterinary professionals, and students alike.

Dr. Christman hosts The Vet Blast Podcast and other platforms that foster meaningful conversations on emerging trends and challenges in veterinary medicine. His media appearances span national outlets including Good Morning America, Fox Weather, the TODAY Show, The Steve Dale Radio Show, Z100 Elvis Duran and the Morning Show, and NJ 101.5. He has contributed to widely read publications such as Reader’s Digest, Yahoo Lifestyle, Parade Magazine, and HuffPost, helping bridge the gap between veterinary science and public understanding. In addition, he is the co-author of Honey, Have You Squeezed the Dachshund?, a guide for pet parents navigating intervertebral disc disease, and a contributing author to a book chapter on veterinary practice management.

Throughout his career, Dr. Christman has remained deeply connected to both clinical practice and community education. He has served in private practice in his hometown of Brick, New Jersey, worked in shelter medicine, and taught as an adjunct professor in the veterinary assistant program at his local community college. A recognized subject matter expert, Dr. Christman regularly speaks at national and international conferences.

Dr. Christman’s impact on the profession has earned him several honors, including the 2023 VMX Speaker of the Year Award for Practice Management, the Bright Minds Veterinary Influencer of the Year Award, and Iowa State University's prestigious Alumni Switzer Award. He was proud to have been selected as the commencement speaker for his veterinary school, Iowa State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, in 2024.

"Dr. Christman exemplifies how passionate and informed communication can elevate veterinary medicine in the eyes of the public," said AVMA President Dr. Sandra Faeh. "Through his media work and outreach, Dr. Christman has helped strengthen the human-animal bond, educate countless pet owners, and support the work of veterinary professionals across the country. We’re proud to honor him for his outstanding contributions to the visibility and voice of our profession."
