The AVMA more than doubled the amount of staff time dedicated to animal welfare issues when it recently filled the first two positions in the AVMA Animal Welfare Division.

Artists draw inspiration from animals for exhibition Printer-friendly version Domestic creatures rarely keep company with wild ones—but dogs, cats, horses, cattle, and pigs recently shared space with lions, tigers, zebras, giraffes, rhinoceroses, and many other species. The 19th International Exhibition on Animals in Art, which ran from March 18-April 16 at the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine, featured 75 pieces of art depicting animals. A total of 296 artists from 42 states, Canada, Europe, and Asia submitted 749 entries. Ann Connelly was the show's judge and juror.
