It's a system he feels is superior, because it protects the sows from aggression and allows his staff to monitor the sows individually. But it's also a system Kellogg knows the public isn't entirely comfortable with. That's one of the reasons he makes a special effort to reach out to his neighbors and schools in his increasingly suburban community about 45 minutes southwest of Chicago.
