Veterinarian of the Year
Dr. Hank Lee (Auburn ’00), Atmore. Dr. Lee is the co-founder of Lee Veterinary Clinic in Atmore, where he practices large animal medicine, focusing on equine lameness and surgery. A past president of the Alabama VMA, he chairs the ALVMA Legislative Committee.
Distinguished Service Award
Dr. Cathleen “Cricket” Forester (Auburn ’91), Fairhope. Dr. Forester has served as director of the veterinary technology program at Coastal Alabama Community College since 2013. She began her career in Georgia and subsequently moved to Alabama, where she owned a mobile practice, was in private and corporate practice, and served as a relief veterinarian.
Special Award
Dr. Charles M. Hendrix (Georgia ’74), Auburn. Dr. Hendrix is a professor emeritus of parasitology at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. Earlier, he served as a captain in the Army Veterinary Corps and was a veterinary medical associate at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Hendrix was recognized for his efforts in honoring the history of the veterinary college at Auburn University.
