The AVMA Council on Education (AVMA COE) will accept applications beginning December 15, 2021, from veterinarians interested in serving as AVMA COE site visitors.
Site visitors conduct veterinary medical college accreditation site visits on behalf of the AVMA COE, with free training provided by the COE.
Site visitors carefully review a college’s self-study, verify the information during a comprehensive site visit of the institution, and submit a report to the AVMA COE for its consideration. Site visitors make recommendations to the COE but do not attend council meetings, discuss findings, or otherwise participate in accreditation decisions.
All site visitors will receive training prior to participating in site visits and must be available for the 2022 training session. Training will be conducted September 16-18, 2022, in Schaumburg, Illinois. Applications will be available after December 15, 2021, and a limited number of site visitors will be trained in 2022.
Veterinarians engaged in all facets of veterinary medicine are encouraged to apply.
Applications will be due January 15, 2022. The application form and a more detailed description of the responsibilities of site visitors will be available on the AVMA website after December 15, 2021.
