Digital ultrasonography

The VTH has four examination rooms, two surgery suites, digital radiography, digital ultrasonography, an isolation unit, and an intensive care unit.

Clinician and puppy patient

Clinicians at the VTH collectively handle about 65 to 70 scheduled appointments a week, in addition to welcoming walk-ins and seeing student-owned pets.

A preparatory school was built on campus for the children of students, faculty, and staff. It hosts kindergarten through eighth grade.

Toxic Plant Garden

The Toxic Plant Garden in the middle of campus has more than a hundred species. These include agave, aloe, tobacco, St. John's wort, marigolds, and macadamia nuts.

Off-campus housing

Many students live in houses or apartments off campus. The school maintains a list of approved landlords to help students choose.

Basseterre's Circus

Basseterre is the capital of the island nation comprising St. Kitts and Nevis. The centerpiece of the city is the Circus, a roundabout modeled after Piccadilly in London.

Island residents

As of 2008, St. Kitts and Nevis had a combined population of 39,817. About 90 percent of residents of the island nation are of African descent.

Feral dog

Large populations of feral dogs and, to a lesser extent, cats roam the island. Ross veterinary students started an organization to care for these animals.

Mount Liamuiga is St. Kitts' highest peak at 3,793 feet. It is an inactive volcano that originally formed the island.

Brimstone Hill Fortress was built from the 1690s to the 1790s by African slave labor. The fortress is now a national park.
