The first Race Around the World event is taking place from Sept. 1 to Nov. 10. It was created to raise awareness of veterinary suicide, promote well-being in the veterinary community, and help the organization keep up with demand and grow.

Since 2014, NOMV has provided online peer-to-peer support and mentorship, reaching over 26,000 veterinarians, support staff members, and veterinary students from around the world.

“The global pandemic has created an elevated sense of urgency in providing wellness resources to those dealing with the additional stresses of COVID-19 in the veterinary profession,” according to a press release. “We are seeing unprecedented levels of workload, abuse, and bullying. As essential workers, veterinary professionals must balance their own needs and that of their families with their work, which is also being conducted in new and difficult ways due to the pandemic.”

The goal is to raise $75,000 and accumulate 25,000 miles, representing the circumference of the Earth and illustrating the goal to reach veterinary professionals everywhere. Zoetis is a primary sponsor of the event.

During the event, racers can participate as individuals or teams. Registration is available Not One More Vet's Race Around The World. The registration fee is $25
