Discussions were held on the college’s efforts toward full recognition, which included a job task analysis. A standing committee will be established to ensure the provision of continuing education that is focused on high-quality animal welfare. In lieu of CE sessions originally scheduled for AVMA Convention 2020 before the in-person convention was canceled, the college will be providing veterinarians and veterinary technicians with a free 90-minute webinar, hosted by North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine, on Oct. 13. The webinar will consist of continuing education sessions, with information on board certification and on pursuing career opportunities in animal welfare. Registration information can be obtained on the college’s website.
