Awards: Veterinarian of the Year: Dr. Rob Presley, Greenville. A 2004 graduate of the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Presley works at Upstate Veterinary Specialists in Greenville. He is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. Dr. Presley has worked with North American Rescue to develop K9 medic kits, which have been distributed via fundraising and donations to handlers throughout the state. Distinguished Veterinarian of the Year: Dr. Charlotte Krugler, Columbia. A 1985 graduate of the Oklahoma State University Center for Veterinary Health Sciences, Dr. Krugler serves as an emergency preparedness veterinarian and extension veterinarian at Clemson University, also serving as an adjunct professor in the university’s Animal and Veterinary Sciences Department. She is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine. During the floods in South Carolina in 2015, Dr. Krugler worked continually with the state emergency management division, coordinating statewide resources to assist animals. Licensed Veterinary Technician of the Year: Melissa Entrekin, Greenville. Licensed veterinary technician Entrekin has worked at the Animal Emergency Clinic in Greenville for 16 years. During that time, she has served as nursing supervisor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration coordinator, and American Animal Hospital Association representative. Veterinary Hospital Employee of the Year: Marian Rowland, Charleston. A certified veterinary practice manager, Rowland has worked for Park West Veterinary Associates in Mount Pleasant since 2008. She is known for mentoring and motivating her team and for sharing her skills and experiences with other practice managers in the area. Humanitarian of the Year: Ava Collingwood, Columbia. Collingwood is the home visit and transport coordinator for Cullen’s Archangel Rescue and Doberman Assistance Network. She helps with the transportation of companion animals and donated supplies and is known for her willingness to go above and beyond in her work.
