The National Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners is reminding veterinarians who have been selected to participate in its practice analysis survey that it is important to respond.

The NBVME periodically surveys practitioners to ensure that the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination reflects the knowledge, skills, and competencies needed by entry-level veterinarians. The last practice analysis was completed in 2009.

This latest survey will be sent in early March 2016 to a carefully selected sample of veterinarians throughout the United States and Canada. The NBVME, which is working closely with the AVMA and Canadian VMA to administer the survey, says it is important that everyone selected for the survey responds.

“The NBVME needs your help as this is a critical juncture for veterinary assessments,” the organization said in a statement.

The survey takes 15-20 minutes to complete and asks veterinarians about their specific area of expertise. Survey results will be shared as soon as they are available. For additional information, contact Dr. Heather Case, NBVME executive director, at mailatnbvme [dot] org.
