According to the Oct. 20 announcement, the Veterinary Innovation Council is a nonprofit 501(c)(6) association “with the mission of convening the brightest minds in the profession and industry together to tackle innovation opportunities that lift up all animal health care segments including caregivers, academia, suppliers, and consumers.”

The “project-driven, collaborative industry body” has three primary goals:

  • Convening talent from across the profession to tackle global challenges facing the animal health industry, challenges that require collaboration and innovation.
  • Developing realistic, innovative solutions capable of transforming areas of critical value to the veterinary profession and animal health industry.
  • Collaborating with professional organizations, companies, and nonprofits to implement the innovations and reforms.

With the launch of the Industry Services Division, the NAVC will share decades of experience in the veterinary profession and event management, according to the Oct. 22 announcement.

“Our approach to association management is customizable, and the services provided can be as extensive or as minimal as needed by each association,” said Adrian Hochstadt, the new senior director of industry services and executive director of the Veterinary Innovation Council, in the announcement.

Among the organizations that the NAVC manages are the Association of Reptilian and Amphibian Veterinarians and the Pet Nutrition Alliance.
