JAVMA has convention covered

From a new logo to new leaders, the AVMA Annual Convention, which took place July 10-14 in Boston, had a lot happening in just a few days.

The AVMA unveiled its new branding efforts July 11 at the event “AVMA: The Launch of a New Era.” More information is available at newavma.avma.org.2015 Boston convention logo

Meanwhile, Drs. Jan Strother and Mike Topper announced their candidacies for 2016-2017 AVMA president-elect July 10 at the Candidates’ Introductory Breakfast. Dr. Stacy Pritt declared her intent to run for 2016-2018 AVMA vice president.

Dr. Joe Kinnarney was installed as AVMA president during the July 14 AVMA Board of Directors meeting. In addition, Drs. John de Jong and Mark Helfat were elected and installed as Board chair and vice chair, respectively. Georgia delegate Dr. Timothy Montgomery is the new House Advisory Committee chair.
