Dr. Lefebvre first worked as an assistant editor at the AVMA from 2007-2011 and then as an adjunct editor from 2011-2013. Meanwhile, she had joined Banfield Pet Hospital as a veterinary research associate in 2011. She was promoted to senior manager of research at Banfield in March 2014 but left in January of this year to rejoin the AVMA full time. Dr. Lefebvre said she plans to stay on with Banfield on a limited, part-time basis to finish research projects she was involved with when she left.

“I am delighted to be returning to the AVMA as an assistant editor,” she said. “The past four years at Banfield have taught me much about the challenges and opportunities in companion animal research, and I look forward to helping other researchers fill the many knowledge gaps that remain through publication of their works.”

The Ottawa, Ontario, native graduated from the University of Guelph Ontario Veterinary College in 2003. She went on to receive her doctorate in epidemiology from Guelph in 2007. Dr. Lefebvre has authored and co-authored research articles in several peer-reviewed publications, including JAVMA.
