The AVMA has adopted a new policy relating to the Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates program. The policy reads as follows:

Documentation Processing Fees

A $100 documentation processing fee will be charged to those ECFVG candidates or certificate holders who request copies of certified, notarized, or official documents (veterinary school diploma, transcript) or English language examination score reports be sent to a third party. The ECFVG cannot assure that such copies will be acceptable to the third party and urges candidates and certificate holders to obtain assurance directly from the third party before making such requests, because the documentation processing fee cannot be refunded.

The Executive Board approved the ECFVG-recommended policy, which became effective Jan. 1, 2011, and is expected to save the program $2,500 a year.
