NAVMEC, led by a nine-member board, is a comprehensive effort to create a workforce of next-generation veterinarians who are ready to address some of society's greatest needs and which take into account educational models, accreditation, and licensing.

The draft report was submitted by the NAVMEC board of directors to the AAVMC board of directors on Oct. 31. The AAVMC board directed that the draft report and recommendation be widely distributed and discussed and that opportunities be offered for all stakeholders to provide input. All input will be reviewed and a final report and recommendations will be prepared for AAVMC board action at its March meeting.
