Members appointed to task force on programs for students, recent graduates

Members have been appointed to the Task Force on AVMA Programs for Students and Recent Graduates.

The objective of the task force is to aid the AVMA in reviewing its current programs for students and recent graduates and those of other associations and in developing a strategic plan for AVMA involvement with veterinary students and recent graduates.

The members of the task force are as follows.

Chair and Executive Board liaison—Dr. Joseph H. Kinnarney, Reidsville Veterinary Hospital, Reidsville, N.C.

Veterinary students—Robin Hansen, University of Illinois, the Student AVMA's editor of the Vet Gazette, and Brian J. Hartschuh, The Ohio State University, president of the OSU Veterinary Food Animal Club

College faculty—Dr. Karen K. Cornell, University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, and Dr. Ronald K. Cott, University of Missouri-Columbia College of Veterinary Medicine

Recent graduates—Dr. Melissa C. Austin-Gundel, a small animal veterinarian in Stanley, Kan., and Dr. Justin Sobota, an equine veterinarian in Middletown, Md.

At-large veterinarian—Dr. J. Michael McFarland, Pfizer Animal Health, Companion Animal Division, New York City
