AAHA releases publication on careers for veterinary technicians
According to AAHA, the range of opportunities for veterinary technicians continues to expand—with positions in general practice, specialty practice, industry, higher education, government, and other areas. "Career Choices for Veterinary Technicians: Opportunities for Animal Lovers" from AAHA Press details the responsibilities, salaries, qualifications, and pros and cons for a variety of careers for veterinary technicians. The authors are Rebecca Rose, CVT, and Dr. Carin A. Smith. "Whether you want to jump-start your career, broaden your responsibilities in your current job, make a move to a different hospital, or change your career path altogether, you will need to take stock of where you are," Rose writes. "To improve your résumé and broaden your choices, think of yourself in a new way. Rather than being 'just a technician,' you have a compilation of skills and knowledge that is much broader than you think." "Career Choices for Veterinary Technicians: Opportunities for Animal Lovers" is available for purchase here or calling the AAHA Member Service Center at (800) 833-6301. The price is $24.95 for AAHA members and $29.95 for nonmembers. | |
