“California law formalizes practice of allowing staff to administer controlled substances,” which appeared on page 827 of the Sept. 15, 2007, JAVMA, inaccurately described state rules relevant to anesthesia. In California, a registered veterinary technician may induce anesthesia under the direct supervision of a licensed veterinarian.
