Carol A. Dietz-Rimar

Dr. Dietz-Rimar (PUR ’80), 51, Lancaster, S.C., died March 31, 2007. She owned Lancaster Animal Hospital and Indian Land Animal Hospital in Fort Mill, S.C. Dr. Dietz-Rimar also bred Scottish Fold cats. Her son survives her.

Willard A. Dornbos

Dr. Dornbos (MSU ’50), 88, Ludington, Mich., died July 2, 2007. Prior to retirement in 1980, he owned a practice in Ludington. Dr. Dornbos was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European theatre. His wife, Beatrice; two sons; three daughters; and two stepsons survive him. Kristine I. Drew

Dr. Drew (IL ’83), 52, Bloomington, Ill., died June 23, 2007. Prior to retirement, she practiced at Eastland Companion Animal Hospital in Bloomington. During her career, Dr. Drew also worked at Big Hollow Companion Animal Hospital in Peoria, Ill., and Limestone Animal Hospital in Bartonville, Ill. Her husband, Richard, and two sons survive her. Kenneth W. Hardman

Dr. Hardman (COL ’51), 86, Avondale, Ariz., died Aug. 30, 2007. Prior to retirement in 1983, he practiced small animal medicine in Northglenn, Colo. Following graduation, Dr. Hardman moved to Goodland, Kan., where he farmed and practiced large animal medicine in the tristate area for 18 years. His wife, Bernice, and three sons survive him.

Charles W. Kasselder

Dr. Kasselder (KSU ’64), 71, Broken Bow, Neb., died Sept. 1, 2007. From 1966 until retirement in 1998, he worked for the Department of Agriculture in Nebraska. Early in his career, Dr. Kasselder practiced in Auburn, Neb., for two years. He was a life member of the Nebraska VMA. A veteran of both the Army and Air Force, Dr. Kasselder retired from the latter as a colonel. He was a member of the American Legion and the Retired Officers Association.

Dr. Kasselder’s wife, Carol; two daughters; and a son survive him. Memorials may be made to Broken Bow United Methodist Church, Broken Bow, NE 68822.

John D. McCleary

Dr. McCleary (WSU ’56), 80, Billings, Mont., died March 22, 2007. From 1959 until retirement in 2000, he owned Big Horn Veterinary Hospital in Hardin, Mont. Earlier in his career, Dr. McCleary owned Project Veterinary Hospital in Worden, Mont. In 1980, he was appointed to the AVMA House Advisory Committee for a three-year term.

Dr. McCleary was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Edythe; two sons; and two daughters. Irving S. Rossoff

Dr. Rossoff (COR ’44), 85, Springfield, Ill., died March 16, 2007. He practiced in Taylorville, Ill., for more than 60 years. Dr. Rossoff authored “Encyclopedia of Clinical Toxicology: A Comprehensive Guide to the Toxicology of Prescription and OTC Drugs, Chemicals, Herbals, Plants, Fungi, Marine Life, ... Clothing and Environmental Toxins.”

He was a board member of the West Central Illinois Criminal Justice Council and trained police officers in 10 Illinois counties. A veteran of World War II, Dr. Rossoff attained the rank of captain in the Army Veterinary Corps Reserve. His wife, Ethel, and two daughters survive him. Frederick E. Sherman

Dr. Sherman (AUB ’54), 79, Montgomery, Ala., died May 12, 2007. Prior to retirement in 1989, he practiced in Southern California for more than 35 years. A past president of the San Diego VMA, Dr. Sherman was a member of the California VMA, American Academy of Veterinary Dermatology, and American Animal Hospital Association. He served in the Army Veterinary Corps from 1946-1947. Dr. Sherman’s wife, Mattie; a daughter; and three sons survive him. Memorials may be made to Woodland United Methodist Church, 4428 Wallahatchee Road, Pike Road, AL 36064.

Raymond Weiner

Dr. Weiner (MID ’43), 90, Marlton, N.J., died Sept. 22, 2007. Prior to retirement, he owned Montgomery Animal Hospital in Flourtown, Pa. Early in his career, Dr. Weiner practiced in Oklahoma. An Army veteran, he served in the China-Burma-India theatre during World War II. Dr. Weiner’s brother, Dr. Daniel Werner (UP ’55), is a veterinarian in Sarasota, Fla.
