Selecting A Pet RodentThe AVMA has released a fourth title in its series of brochures to help consumers make wise choices when selecting a pet. "What you should know about selecting a pet rodent" joins brochures on choosing a dog, cat, or bird as a pet. Selecting a pet rodent looks at the life spans, behaviors, and nutritional and housing needs of hamsters, guinea pigs, rats, gerbils, and mice. Content for the pet selection series was developed by members of the AVMA Committee on the Human-Animal Bond.

All AVMA educational brochures are downloadable from the AVMA Web site or available for purchase in packages of 50. Spanish-text versions of the brochures are online, with several titles available in print.
