The AVMA Centers for Information Management, formerly a department within the Executive Division that handled information technology at the Association, was made a stand-alone division in late August. Craig Little will head the new Information Technology Division, which expanded the number of AVMA divisions from 10 to 11.

AVMA Executive Vice President W. Ron DeHaven explained that the recent transfer of database operations from the Membership and Field Services Division to CIM justified creating the new IT Division with its staff of 20. "Information technology is such a key component of every aspect of what we do at the AVMA," Dr. DeHaven said.
