Several revisions were made to the AVMA policy "Model rabies control ordinance," following the Executive Board's approval. The revisions were recommended by the Council on Public Health and Regulatory Veterinary Medicine. One revision was to reflect a newly approved vaccine for cats that is labeled for use every four years. Another revision was the inclusion of applicable microchip numbers in rabies vaccine certificates. This change was recommended after the National Association of State Public Health Veterinarians updated its model certificate (see JAVMA, May 15, 2007). | ||
