The American Horse Council's recently improved Web site, www.horsecouncil.org, provides timely, educational information on government issues related to horses.

"The American Horse Council's Web site is a vital tool for our individual and organizational members and the industry as a whole," said Jay Hickey, AHC president. "It is important for our members and the entire horse industry to stay informed on the issues and know when and how to make a difference."

The AHC is supported by approximately 160 organizations and 1,200 individuals representing the horse industry. The group works to promote and protect all horse breeds, disciplines, and interests by communicating with Congress, federal agencies, the media, and the industry.

The improved Web site provides information on how bills introduced in the 110th Congress (Jan. 4, 2007 to Jan. 3, 2009) might impact the horse industry, along with what legislation happened in the 109th congressional session. Information on equine health and federal regulatory issues and how to join the AHC's Congressional Cavalry Program is also available.

The AHC plans eventually to launch a members-only section of the Web site with additional resources.
