The Executive Board allotted up to $8,775 for interested board members, officers, and the House Advisory Committee chair to attend the AVMA Public Policy Symposium this August.

The recommendation was made by AVMA President Jack O. Walther and Dr. Larry Corry, District IV representative and chair of the Task Force on State Legislative and Regulatory Initiatives.

The symposium, "Helping Veterinarians Influence Public Policy at the State Level," is designed to help leaders of state and allied VMAs understand and more effectively participate in public policy decision-making, and will include sessions on understanding advocacy agendas, strategy development, issues management, coalition building, and effective communication.
