CDC, AAVP revise guidelines for prevention of zoonotic intestinal parasites

The national Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the American Association of Veterinary Parasitologists have updated the "Guidelines for Veterinarians: Prevention of Zoonotic Transmission of Ascarids and Hookworms of Dogs and Cats" to reflect new information, including new anthelmintic products.

The resource is available on the CDC Web site, www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dpd/parasites/ascaris/prevention.htm, and the CDC's "Healthy Pets Healthy People" Web site, www.cdc.gov/healthypets/index.htm. A downloadable PDF file is in preparation.
