The Executive Board approved funds for the production of an educational presentation on veterinary school/college accreditation. It will be used in assisting veterinary state licensing boards members and others to better understand the accreditation process. Various members of the Council on Education will design the presentation and upgrade it annually.

The board authorized one member of the education council to observe the site visits by foreign accrediting agencies to the Faculty of Veterinary Science at the University of Liverpool, England, this spring and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at University College Dublin, Ireland, this fall.

All three actions were taken on recommendation of the council.

In addition, the board approved membership of the AVMA Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities in the Association of Specialized and Professional Accreditors. The focus of the ASPA is to ensure the reliability and consistency of the accreditation process, and communicate with the public about accreditation.
