The Executive Board amended the AVMA policy on appointment of AVMA volunteer directors of the National Commission on Veterinary Economic Issues to allow them to be eligible for reappointment to succeeding terms after the expiration of their initial three-year term of office. Continuity of experienced leadership is essential to enable the NCVEI to fulfill its mission over the course of its five-year life span.

Subsequently, the board reappointed AVMA immediate past president, Dr. James E. Nave, Las Vegas, and Dr. Randy Bush, Flora, Ind., to another term as NCVEI board member.
