| Duane F. Brobst Dr. Brobst (WSU '54), 77, Pullman, Wash., died July 14, 2001. He was retired. Dr. Brobst had been professor and head of the Clinical Diagnostic Laboratory at Washington State University. Prior to that, he taught at Purdue University. Early in his career, Dr. Brobst practiced in Ontario, Ore., and Plentywood, Mont. He was an emeritus diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists and a member of the American Society of Veterinary Clinical Pathologists. Dr. Brobst served as president of the Developmental Disabilities Board for Whitman County, Washington. Dr. Brobst was a World War II veteran, serving in the Navy. | Edward L. Holden Dr. Holden (WSU '45), 79, Tigard, Ore., died June 28, 2001. He was retired. Following graduation Dr. Holden practiced large animal medicine in Tillamook, Ore. Later, he established a practice in Lake Oswego. Dr. Holden was a member of the Oregon VMA, serving as president in 1969. Memorials may be made to Vista House, P.O. | Walter B. Homan Dr. Homan (OSU '57), 68, Moorefield, W.Va., died June 8, 2001. In 1957 he began his mixed practice in Moorefield, and in 1977, his nephew, Dr. Morris M. Homan Jr. (OSU '77), joined him. Dr. Homan was a member and past president of the West Virginia VMA. While on the West Virginia Veterinary Medical Board, he served as president from 1979-1984. Dr. Homan was also a member of the AABP. He is survived by a daughter and four sons. One son, Dr. Thomas R. Homan (OSU '83), is a veterinarian in Charleston, W.Va. | Richard W. Jones Dr. Jones (ISU '59), 66, North Logan, Utah, died June 18, 2001. He owned the Mountain View Veterinary Clinic in Logan, a practice he established in 1962. Following graduation, Dr. Jones served in the Army Veterinary Corps. From 1961-1962 he practiced in Petaluma, Calif. Dr. Jones retired from active practice in 1998 and began raising replacement dairy heifers and pursuing an interest in Shire horses. He was a member and past president of the Utah VMA. Dr. Jones had been Utah's delegate to the AVMA HOD and had served on the Utah Veterinary Examining Board. He was also a member of the Cache (Utah) Practitioners Association. In 1999, Dr. Jones received a Distinguished Service Award from the Cache County Farm Bureau for outstanding contribution to agriculture. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; two daughters; and a son. | Sharon L. Jugenheimer Dr. Jugenheimer (ISU '97), 46, Lakeland, Fla., died July 14, 2001. She practiced equine medicine at a veterinary clinic in Lakeland. | Richard E. Koenig Dr. Koenig (COL '43), 81, Milwaukie, Ore., died July 9, 2001. He was retired. Dr. Koenig had owned the Peninsula Dog and Cat Hospital in Portland, Ore. He was a member and past president of the Oregon VMA. Dr. Koenig served as president of the board of the Dove Lewis Memorial Veterinary Clinic in 1973, a business he co-founded. He served in the Army Veterinary Corps in the 1940s. Dr. Koenig is survived by his wife, Lainy; two daughters; and a son. Memorials may be made to the Guide Dogs for the Blind, P.O. | Robert F. Larson Dr. Larson (CAL '53), 76, Sonoma, Calif., died June 23, 2001. He practiced in El Cerrito, Calif., for many years. Dr. Larson went on to establish the Sonoma Creek Winery. | Larry D. Nelson Dr. Nelson (MO '76), 57, Dell Rapids, S.D., died May 14, 2001. Recently retired, he had been a partner at the Montrose-Dell Rapids Veterinary Clinic for 13 years. From 1976-1988 Dr. Nelson practiced in Wakarusa, Ind. He served as an agricultural missionary in Bolivia from 1968-1972. Dr. Nelson was a member of the AASV, the South Dakota VMA, and the American Association of Swine Producers. His wife, Mary, and three daughters survive him. | Laura A. Solien Dr. Solien (MO '83), 42, Lagrange, Ind., died July 11, 2001. She practiced small animal medicine at the Maplecrest Animal Hospital in Goshen, Ind. Early in her career, Dr. Solien worked in clinics in Illinois and Indiana. She participated in Loveway Inc., a therapeutic horseback riding program for handicapped children. | William G. Tietz Dr. Tietz (ISU '44), 79, Eldora, Iowa, died May 31, 2001. Retired, he practiced in Eldora for 39 years. Dr. Tietz owned the Town and Country Mobile Home Park in Eldora and was named the Eldora Chamber of Commerce Man of the Year in 1963.
