Event: Annual scientific meeting of the ACVR and its Affiliate of Radiation Oncology, Nov 28-Dec 2, 2000 Program: More than 175 veterinarians chose from 47 presentations and posters dealing with diagnostic radiology, ultrasonography, nuclear medicine, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and radiation oncology. The keynote speakers were Dr. E. James Potchen, on "Managing high technology and diagnostic imaging," Dr. Helen F. Routh on "Applications and future ultrasound directions," Dr. Lynne Nelson on "Essentials of echocardiography," Dr. Gregory M. Dennis on "Legal and ethical implications of veterinary telemedicine and e-health," Dr. Mark Schweitzer on MR imaging of muscle," Dr. Henri van Bree on "Use of CT in musculoskeletal disease," and Dr. Rodney Withers on "Quantitating biology of cancer treatment." A film reading session and daylong forum on abdominal radiology were also presented.
Awards: Resident Authored Paper Award: Dr. Rachel Pollard, Davis, Calif, for her paper on videocinefluoroscopy of canine swallowing Officers: Drs.
